About Sun Valley
Sun Valley is a lovely neighborhood in the San Fernando Valley of Los Angeles. The
community sits at the base of the Verdugo Mountains providing a rural feel and incredible
views of the natural surroundings.

tennis, and volley courts, a lighted baseball diamond, a soccer field, and a football
field. The Fernangeles Recreation Center has an auditorium, a gymnasium, and indoor
basketball courts. Outside visitors enjoy picnic areas with tables and barbecues,
a playground, a lighted baseball diamond, lighted athletic facilities that include
a baseball diamond, football field, basketball court, and soccer field. Stonehurst
Recreation Center is a historic site with a gymnasium, a community room, and an
auditorium. There are lovely picnic areas with barbecues and tables, a playground,
lighted basketball and volleyball courts, a lighted football field, lighted baseball
diamond, and lighted soccer field.
The local recreation centers sponsors youth and adult sports leagues and hosts classes,
camps, and community events. Stonehurst has an early learning academy and a theater
that has classes, workshops, and presents live productions. Fernangeles has a hip
hop academy, karate academy, piano academy and multiple fitness classes. Locals
enjoy classes in karate, gymnastics, Zumba, and aerobics.
The neighborhood is home to the Theodore Payne Foundation for Wild Flowers and Native
Plants. The organization hosts classes, grows and sells native plants in their nurseries,
and promotes the use of southern California flora in local landscapes. Participants
learn how to attract birds, butterflies and bees to their gardens, plant species
that will thrive in the surrounding environment, and learn about container gardening.
This is a wonderful resource for gardeners dealing with elevation, local climate,
and rain fall issues. The gardens offer field trips and tours for locals and area
school children.
The surrounding natural area provides residents with hiking and biking trails that
wind through the hills and canyons. Participants are surrounded by native plants
and wildlife and treated to breath taking views of the mountains and canyons.
Restaurants, cafes, bistros, and fast food establishments abound throughout Sun
Valley as well as nearby communities. There are steak houses, ethnic restaurants
that create your favorite dishes, cafes and bistros with eclectic menus and alfresco
dining, and many fast food eateries. You can enjoy a fine dining experience, savor
your favorite food at a cafe, or pick up pizza or tacos to enjoy on your patio.
Shoppers frequent the local Canyon Plaza Shopping Center with brand name department
stores, specialty shops, boutiques, salons, and fast food stops. Other stores including
grocery shops and markets are spread throughout the community.
Entertainment opportunities abound throughout the area. Residents can pick from
a long list of movies, concerts, plays, ballets, and operas as well as professional
sporting events.
Sun Valley is a beautiful community nestled in the hills that provides residents
a lovely setting for warm and welcoming neighborhoods. It is an ideal sport for
