About Studio City
Studio City is a community located in the picturesque San Fernando Valley. Residents
have easy access to both the Ventura Freeway and the San Diego Freeway which makes
commuting to downtown Los Angeles, and the coastal cities convenient. The neighborhoods
are known for being safe, a great place to raise kids, and take walks at night.
The city received its name from the history of film making in the area. It began
in the silent film era when a major studio was built in the community and the sound
stage are still in use today. Many actors working on movies in Studio City stayed
and called it their home. Famous residents included Charlie Chaplin, W.C. Fields,
Carole Lombard, Gene Autry, and Joan Crawford. Currently the studio is owned by
CBS and continues to film television shows and films and is a popular international
tourist attraction. In addition to studio tours tickets are available to attend
the live filming of television shows
Real estate in Studio City ranges from million dollar mansions to affordable and
well-appointed single family homes, townhouses, and condominiums. There are neighborhoods
with impressive estates on large lushly landscaped yards with swimming pools, tennis

The Los Angeles Unified School District supervises the educational needs of the
community. There is a public elementary school, public middle school, and a public
high school in Studio City. Private schools include an academy that serves all grade
levels, a four private elementary schools, a preparatory school for grades five
through twelve, and a private high school.
Recreation and relaxation opportunities are conveniently located throughout the
community. Coldwater Canyon Park has hiking trails, a tree nursery, organic gardens,
a fruit orchard, and a large amphitheater. Beeman Park, also called Studio City
Recreation Center, has an auditorium, a picnic area with barbecues and tables, a
playground, a walking and running track, a lighted baseball diamond, lighted basketball
courts and unlit tennis courts. The Center sponsors youth sports leagues and offers
programs and classes for locals of all ages. Woodbridge Park has a playground and
two small pocket parks offer well maintained green space for rest and relaxation.
Ventura Boulevard is a popular shopping destination for many. The street is lined
with department stores, specialty shops, and boutiques as well as a wide array of
restaurants. This is an ideal spot to spend a sunny California afternoon browsing
the shops and enjoying a delicious treat at an outside cafe. Residents also enjoy
a weekly Farmer's Market, grocery stores, and specialty markets for fresh foods
and ingredients for your special recipes.
There are many eatery options on Ventura Boulevard and throughout the community.
There are restaurants representing a wide range of cuisines, steak houses, vegetarian
restaurants, cafes, bistros, and fast food eateries. Enjoy a fine dining experience
relishing your favorite dishes, go out for a delicious breakfast, grab lunch on
a cafe patio, and take home pizza, or burgers, or tacos to relish on your patio.
In addition to local events and touring options at Studio City there are many local
and nearby options for movies, concert, and live performances. Beautiful California
beaches are also just a short drive away.
Studio City is a community created by the film industry and maintained by the television
and movie filming. Neighborhoods are welcoming, with lovely homes, backyards for
picnics and pool parties, and beautiful winding streets for long walks and bike

and sponsor youth sports leagues and provides camps and classes for locals. Shopping,
