West Covina
West Covina is a charming city located within Los Angeles County. Part of the San Gabriel, it is conveniently only 19 east of downtown Los Angeles. Residents enjoy easy access to the L.A. Freeway System with the San Bernardino Freeway (Interstate 10) passing through the north part of the city. The Pomona Freewar, San Gabriel Valley River Freeway, and Orange Freeway also serve West Covina.
The convenience continues, as West Covina serves as a transit hub for bus service in San Gabriel Valley. The award-winning Foothill Transit District and the Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) together provide over 400 buses arriving and departing from West Covina each day. They serve both express and local routes through the greater L.A. County area.
West Covina also offers a shuttle bus. This service allows for convenient travel between local malls, hospitals, parks, and the Metrolink Station. There are two Metrolink Stations nearby. Metrolink offers daily commuter train services between residential and major commercial areas.
The central location of West Covina provides easy access to many attraction. Within an hour's drive you can be at the beach enjoying the Pacific Ocean waves or hiking in the mountains taking in stunning vistas.
Staying right in town also offers lots of recreational options. There are 16 parks and three recreation centers within West Covina. Green space, picnic areas, as well as a host of myriad social programs and tournaments are all available.
Most of the city is served by the West Covina Unified School District, which consists of eight elementary schools, two middle schools, one intermediate school, and two high schools. Some parts of the city are served by the Covina Valley Unified School District and Rowland Unified School District. Some of residents in South Hills are allowed to choose which school district their children attend. In addition to the fine school districts serving the area, there is a number of nearby universities and community colleges.
West Covina real estate is characterized by numerous different architectural styles spread throughout the city. Residential neighborhoods are made of mostly single-family housing. There are a few pockets of apartment and townhouse developments as well. The neighborhoods here are a well-maintained, middle class oasis. Manicured lawns and strolling families dominate the landscape.
