About Venice Also known as Venice Beach

Under the warmth of the California sun and alongside the breaking waves of the coastline, lies charming Venice. This beachfront district, on the Westside of Los Angeles, offers the southern California life style and real estate. Venice is bordered by the Pacific Ocean to the southwest, Marina del Rey to the southeast, Culver City to the east, Mar Vista to the northeast, and the city of Santa Monica to the north.

A stroll through Venice will discover canals, funky artist colonies, contemporary restaurants, eclectic shops and galleries, boutique hotels, and of course, beaches. There is a circus-like Ocean Front Walk that is a two-and-a-half mile pedestrian-only promenade featuring performers, fortune-tellers, artists, and vendors.

Venice, originally founded as a seaside resort, later became the home of early beat poets and artists and continues to be an important cultural center. It remains a hub of artistic inspiration and creativity that hosts a monthly Venice Art Crawl, a free tour through Venice Beach showcasing its artistry.

Venice offers a wide array of dining opportunities. You'll find everything from casual family eateries, to beach-side snacks to world-class seafood and five-star restaurants. Many are quite trendy, staying true to the region's creative culture, and attract locals as well as notables throughout L.A.

Shopping in Venice is an exciting and unique experience. While major shopping centers are located only a couple of miles away, Venice is best known for it's boutiques, both local and edgy, eclectic specialty shops and art galleries. It is often compared to New York's SoHo. Venice has four distinct shopping areas, each with it's own personality.

Take a trip to Italy without the expensive air fare and visit the Venice Canal Historic District. Walk or bike past the man-made canals that were built to recreate the appearance and feel of Venice, Italy. Enjoy a gondola ride - and don't forget to kiss under the bridges!

Venice beach offers just what you would hope for; sun, sand and beautiful sunsets. There is a Beach Boardwalk, weekend drum circles, a 16,000 square foot skate park, and the Muscle Beach Gym.

Anything but 'cookie cutter', Venice real estate offers a diverse spectrum of living opportunities. From stately Craftsman style erected after the turn of the century to charming 20's bungalows to avant-garde contemporary homes and loft studios, you're sure to find something that screams 'home' to you.

Education needs are served by 7 K-12 schools in Venice, including 5 public schools and 2 private schools. Two of the elementary schools received 4 out of 5 stars as did the Venice High School. The local educational institutions are committed to providing our children with a well-rounded, quality education.

Discover the allure that drew Jim Morrison to find 'The Doors,' and a culture that has given birth to modern skateboarding.
