Located in the west San Gabriel Valley Temple City is a diverse city in Los Angeles California. This picturesque area is surrounded by the San Gabriel Mountains, San Rafael Hills, the Crescenta Valley, and the San Gabriel River that flows through the valley. Neighboring communities include Arcadia, Rosemead, Monterey Park, San Marino, and San Gabriel. The diverse city is a population destination for East Asians, Eastern Europeans, Middle Easterners and Latino immigrants. There are several strip malls that provide goods for the eclectic Asian population and there is a Cuban and Puerto Rican community as well.

The Department coordinates a teen zone that offers an after school program with homework help, a computer lab, games, activities, and field trips.
