About Rosemead
Located in the northern part of Los Angeles County, Rosemead is a lovely residential
community. The name was derived from the original Rose's Meadow ranch where horses
were bred and trained. Prior to incorporation in the late 1950s the area was a flourishing
farming community. Recently the area has become a population destination for Chinese
and Vietnamese immigrants opening businesses such as ethnic restaurants, specialty
shops, and is the headquarters for the fast food chain Panda Restaurant. Another
major employer is Edison International and Southern California Edison that provides
electric services to much of Southern California.
