Playa Vista – A Growing Community
Playa Vista is a beautiful area in southern California near Mariana Del Rey, Venice, Westchester with easy access to the San Diego Freeway. It is part of a newly developed area in southern California called Silicon Beach and is poised to grow with new residents and business joining the community.
Real estate is Playa Vista is varied and affordable. There are lovely single-family neighborhoods of all sizes with manicured lawns and tree-lined streets. Home styles vary from Mediterranean styled architecture with tiled roofs to impressive modern styles. Townhouse, condominium, and loft properties are also available. These complexes offer a variety of floor plans, and outside amenities that include shaded courtyards, fountains, and picnic areas. Housing demand remains high in the area and a new development is planned. The plan includes several sections of single-family homes, town homes, and condominiums and a large apartment complex. The design also incorporates green space and retail and office buildings.
The community sits on the edge of the newly established area referred to a Silicon Beach. Companies and entrepreneurs were drawn to the area because of its proximity to the ocean and convenience to Los Angeles. The area has attracted tech start-ups, budding e-commerce companies, digital ad shops, and cutting-edge media and entertainment enterprises. Facebook recently moved to Play Vista and other nearby famous tenants include Google and Microsoft.
A number of public and charter schools, elementary, middle, and high school, serve the area. Several and parochial schools are also an option.
While there are less than twenty stores and shops in the community they cover a wide range of consumer needs. Dining choices include well known chain restaurants, cafes, and are much more plentiful in the area. There are chain restaurants, cafes, and diners. Upcoming expansion in the community will increase the dining and shopping possibilities.
The beach is just a short drive away and it is easy to pack the car and spend the day swimming, playing and relaxing. You can also leave the car at home and take the Los Angeles County's Beach Bus that between $1.00 and $3.00 for a round trip and makes a stop in town.
There are a number of parks available for residents. There are two dog parks with water fountains and separate areas for big dogs and small dogs. The sports park offers a large fenced playground area for young children with traditional equipment such as low swings and a merry-go-round. There is a also a unique boat that holds about twenty kids and rocks back and fourth. Parents enjoy the picnic area and appreciate the numerous benches and abundant shade. There are two tennis courts, a Little League baseball field, two basketball courts, and a soccer field. The walking path around the wetland marsh is a wonderful spot to take a stroll. Residents praise the area for its clean rest rooms and the presence of security guards to keep everyone safe. Bike riders, walkers, joggers, and runners have access to a bike path at Ballona Creek. The eight mile trail runs from the Pacific Ocean at Marina Del Rey through Playa Vista and ends in Culver City.
Playa Vista is a community of lovely neighborhoods, beautiful parks, and is just miles from the beach. The area is part of a business boom and to accommodate the growth new homes, and business and retail sites are being constructed. The affordable housing, planned expansion, and employment opportunities have made the area an attractive destination for recent graduate of local graduates from the University of Southern California, the University of California Los Angeles, and other local schools. Residents of this community will be part of an exciting future.
