La Crescenta is an unincorporated area in Los Angeles County. Bordered by the Angeles National Forest this picturesque community offers residents beautiful mountain views and outdoor adventure such as hiking and camping. Conveniently located on the Foothill Freeway it is a popular home base for commuters.

This picturesque community has beautiful communities with houses of varying styles, sizes, and prices. There are lovely neighborhoods that offer welcoming homes, some with mountain views, on landscaped lawns with swimming pools and patios. Residents enjoy picnics in the backyard, pool parties, leisurely strolls or a running workout, and quiet relaxation in the shade. There are also well designed townhouses and condominium complexes with well-designed units of varying sizes and owner amenities such as outdoor cookout areas, swimming pools, and spas.

The Glendale Unified School District oversees excellent public schools in the area. There are seven elementary public schools, three are California Distinguished Schools and three are Blue Ribbon Schools. The middle schools and two high schools are also California Distinguished Schools. Private elementary and middle schools are also available.

The area boasts a number of beautiful parks. Crescenta Valley Park is a large tree covered park that provides the feel of being in the forest. Visitors enjoy the shaded picnic areas, well equipped play areas, and athletic fields.. It is a dog friendly park that has separate areas the keep small and large dogs apart. Another family and pet friendly park is Two Strike Park. Children enjoy the well maintained play equipment, rock climbing area, basketball courts, and open green space for running and relaxing. Dunsmore Park is a smaller neighborhood park that has tennis courts, a baseball diamond, playground, and picnic areas.

The neighboring Angeles National Forest offers many hiking opportunities. A favorite is the Stone Canyon Trail that winds to the top of Mount Lukens. The climb is rewarded with a panoramic view from the highest peak in the city. Nearby Deukmejian Wilderness Park is a large 704 acre preserve with two steep canyons. Hikers enjoy the California vegetation and wildlife, and are surrounded by breath taking landscapes. Those that reach the higher elevations enjoy views of Crescenta Valley, San Gabriel Valley, San Fernando Valley, the Glendale Mountains, and downtown Los Angeles, and are sometimes treated to snow.

Locals enjoy a wide selection of restaurants, cafes, delicatessens, and fast food eateries in the community. When looking for a place to dine you will find chain restaurants, fine dining establishments representing a wide range of cuisines, quaint cafes that offer alfresco dining, hip bistros, and fast food stops that provide all of the traditional favorites. It is equally easy to make a reservation for a fine dining experience that includes your favorite dishes, enjoy a quiet meal at a sidewalk cafe, grab a burger or wings at a sports bar, or take home pizza to share on the patio.

Shoppers will enjoy the wide array of stores, specialty shops, and boutiques located throughout the community. Honolulu Avenue in Montrose is lined with stores, specialty shops, boutiques, services, and eclectic eateries. The lovely street is a popular destination for those who love to stroll and browse in beautiful surroundings. Spend a warm southern California afternoon shopping and relaxing with a cappuccino at a sidewalk cafe. There are also many grocery stores, markets, and bakeries close at hand. These options make it easy to find that perfect gift, fresh ingredients for a special recipe, or treat yourself to a new outfit or piece of jewelry.

Residents enjoy local events such as a weekly Harvest Market that includes fresh produce, arts and crafts, delicious snacks, and entertainment. Many festivals are held throughout the year such as the annual Halloween Trick or Treat Spooktacular, Christmas parades and a tree lighting ceremony. Other entertainment options are available in nearby venues. Residents can enjoy movies, concerts, live performances, and professional sporting events.

La Crescenta-ontrose offers residents convenience and warm and welcoming neighborhoods. There are lovely local parks for rest and recreation and nearby preserves and wilderness areas for hiking and camping. Dining, shopping, and entertainment opportunities are plentiful. Those who live in this community can choose a quiet picnic in the backyard, a challenging hike to a mountain top offering incredible views, a lovely fine dining experience, or a movie date night ending with a nightcap at a local pub.
