About East Los Angeles
East Los Angeles is a collection of communities and neighborhoods located east of
downtown Los Angeles and the Los Angles River and is referred to by locals as the
“Eastside”. It is considered as a major hub of Hispanic culture with a large Mexican
and Latino population. The neighborhood is home to the Latino Walk of Fame, similar
to the Hollywood Walk of Fame. The project was initiated in 1997 and honors outstanding
leaders who have made historical and social contributions
When shopping for real estate in the East Los Angeles area potential residents will
find many types of neighborhoods to choose from. There are large estate homes in
sprawling communities, single-family communities on small manicured lots, and condominium

and beauty. Famous names represented include Bass, Tommy Hilfiger, and Coach. Hungry
shoppers will find a huge variety of food choices with ethnic food, hot dogs and
subs, sushi, and yummy desserts. In addition to a large parking area there is also
bus and rail service to this Outlet. Brand name stores, supermarkets, and boutiques
are also conveniently located throughout the area.
East Los Angeles eateries are heavily influenced by the Latino population with many
local restaurants and cafes offering delicious dishes. There are also a wide array
of other cuisine choices available such as American, Chinese, Thai, and Italian.
Fast food is represented as well with burgers, subs, and pizza shops. The tempting
aroma of fresh baked goods is also prevalent with many local bakery offering mouth
watering treats.
There are many wonderful recreation and relaxation options available to residents
in a number of local parks. Atlantic Avenue Park encompasses almost 40 acres of
land and includes a playground, picnic areas with barbecue pits and shelters, and
a huge swimming pool. There are baseball diamonds, basketball courts, soccer fields,
a skate park, fitness zone, and tennis courts. An inside recreation center includes
a community room and a gymnasium. A beautiful rose garden maintained by volunteers
is a centerpiece of the park. A smaller park, City Terrace County Park, has a recreation
center with a community room, computer center, a ceramics room, and a gymnasium.
Outside you will find a swimming pool, a picnic area and playground, tennis and
basketball courts, and a multi-purpose field. Visitors can enjoy a lovey walking
path that winds through the park. Laguna Park and Playground offers another choice
for residents. There is a swimming pool, a baseball diamond, basketball courts,
and tennis courts. Families can enjoy picnics in welcoming green space with barbecue
areas, picnic shelters, and playgrounds. A recreation center has a gymnasium and
a senior center and there is also a computer technology building with a computer
labs.
East Los Angeles is an area with diverse neighborhoods, incredible parks, and shopping
and dining choices for everyone. Home buyers can opt to live in a cozy single-family
community, a larger, more upscale neighborhood, or buy a well appointed condominium
