About Bellflower
Named for an apple grown in the local orchards, Bell Flower is a suburb of Los Angeles,
located southeast of downtown. Originally a major producer of apples and milk products
the orchards and farms were eventually divided into large, welcoming housing developments.
The area is a popular exurb due to easy access to the Artesia Freeway, San Gabriel
River Freeway, and the Century Freeway.
The region strives to remain current and has initiated many beautification projects
to enhance the experience of living in Bell Flower. A new large shopping plaza has
been constructed and provides locals with stores, boutiques, and specialty shops.
An outdoor civic plaza and residential opportunities are mixed throughout the new
commercial development as well. Area roadways have been renovated, lushly landscaped,
and lighted for a pleasant and safe driving experience. A new senior housing development
has also been added providing an active living situation for older residents. Existing
business had thrived and new companies are moving to the area attracted by the atmosphere
and convenience of the city.
This lovely city boasts pubic art displays, an updated library, and two civic auditoriums
that host performances and are also available for rent for special events and business
meetings. The feeling of community is further enhanced with holiday parades, a summer
concert series, an annual tree lighting ceremony, children's holiday party, and
an active volunteer program that is embraced by residents.
Real estate options abound in this city. Those looking for property will find a
wide variety of housing styles, sizes and prices. There are beautiful neighborhoods
with lovely homes on landscaped lawns developed along tree lined streets. Buyers
will find single and multi-family homes as well as attractive and well-appointed

Most of the area is served by the Bellflower Unified School District. There are
four elementary public schools and a public high school that includes grades seven
through 12. A number of privately run schools are also available including private
high schools, schools that serves all grade levels, others that are open for grades
kindergarten through eighth grade, some offer classes for kindergarten through sixth
grade, and there are also several private preschools.
Residents enjoy several major parks that have recently been upgraded. The local
parks and recreation department is an active and supportive part of the city. Both
youth and adult sports leagues are coordinated by the department, swimming lessons
and fitness classes are offered, as well as a wide variety of specialized classes
for area youth. There is a an aquatic center that includes a swimming pool, water
exercises classes, hosts a swim team, and can be rented for private pool parties.
All age groups are involved with special classes and activities for seniors and
an NFL punt, pass, and kick competition for local kids. Additionally, these parks
offer beautiful open green spaces that provide shady spots for parties and picnics,
playgrounds, exercise paths, athletic fields, and popular skateboard venues.
Shopping is a pleasure here with many local vendors that have been in the community
for years as well as new tenants that have been attracted to the newly created commercial
areas. There are department stores, grocery markets, a local Farmer's market, as
well as quaint Mom and Pop shops and lovely boutiques. Dining is equally enjoyable
with eclectic restaurants, diners, and fast food establishments. A wide variety
of other choices are also just a short drive away.
This wonderful community offers residents friendly and comfortable neighborhoods,
lovely parks that also sponsor a host of sport leagues, classes, and activities
for all ages, as well as convenient shopping and dining options. Locals are rewarded
with a wide variety of events from parades to concerts and public art displays.
